The Sherwood Park Highland Gathering is an outdoor event held on the Salisbury High School Athletic Fields in Broadmoor Lake Park. Located in the heart of Sherwood Park, we strive to host an accessible event for all.
The event consists of piping and drumming competitions, massed band performances, Highland Dance competitions, and Scottish heavy games. There will also be children’s activities, food trucks, beer gardens, community market with local makers and Scottish Clan booths, and a family Ceilidh.
The Sherwood Park Highland Gathering is pleased to welcome David and Vicki Lawrence as our 2026 Chieftains.
The Lawrence name traces its roots to ancient Britain, with connections to Anglo-Saxon England, Scotland, Ireland, and the broader Celtic world. Over centuries, the Lawrence family name became part of the rich history and migration stories that helped shape communities across the United Kingdom, Ireland, and eventually North America.
David takes great pride in the Celtic heritage connected to the Lawrence name and looks forward to celebrating those traditions with our community. The Lawrence family coat of arms carries the motto “Be Ready,” a fitting sentiment as David and Vicki help welcome visitors, participants, and families to this year’s Highland Gathering.
We are honoured to have David and Vicki Lawrence serve as Chieftains and help celebrate the history, culture, and community spirit that make the Sherwood Park Highland Gathering such a special event.
